In 2019, the effort towards comprehensive campus sustainability was initiated through the UUM Living Campus 2030 agenda. This effort is planned to ensure that the UUM campus is able to remain relevant and carry out its operations in a sustainable manner, according to the university's own model.

The sustainability of this campus refers to UUM's efforts, not only in preserving and conserving the environment and its ecosystem, but in supporting the agenda of the United Nations which highlights the Sustainable Development Agenda (SDG 2030) which is more holistic in preserving the earth and its inhabitants. Thus, this effort is translated in the form of a framework and action plan, in accordance with several policies including;

i. The Sustainable Development Agenda (SDG 2030) consists of 17 Development Goals by the United Nations (UN)

i. 12th Malaysia Plan

iii. Kedah Development Plan 2035.

UUM's Living Campus Agenda outlines a strategic action plan related to green and sustainable development for the purpose of making UUM a leading institution related to:

• Green development and sustainability

• Give birth to creative thinkers

• Green measurement and environmental sustainability

Public higher education institutions in Malaysia are also moving to make the country's sustainability agenda a success. In relation to that, this conference intends to gather all public university sustainability management to jointly share SDG success stories and best practices regarding sustainable development in each public university so that they can work together to make the sustainable campus agenda a success.

 This conference is organized by the Center for Testing, Measurement and Evaluation (CeTMA) in collaboration with the UUM Living Campus Steering Committee and with strategic collaboration partner UniMAP.
