CETMA UUM ORGANISED A WORKSHOP “UNLOCKING INSIGHTS: INTRODUCTION TO STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELLING (SEM)” THROUGH THE ONLINE WEBEX PLATFORM
On this day, marked a significant milestone in the journey of data analysis as professionals and students converged for the highly anticipated Unlocking Insights Workshop. Hosted by the Centre for Testing, Measurement and Appraisal (CeTMA), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), this interactive session delved into the technicalities of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), empowering participants to figure out complex relationships and extract meaningful insights from the given real datasets.
In addition, the participants immersed themselves in a deep dive into the integration of factor analysis into the SEM framework. Through engaging discussions and practical exercises, participants learned how to uncover latent variables and explore complex connections within the datasets. This workshop also provided a comprehensive platform for participants to develop essential skills in SEM. From hypothesis development to model specification using AMOS software, participants gained valuable insights into the principles and techniques of SEM under the guidance of facilitator, Nur Anis Juliana who worked as a research assistant at CeTMA, UUM. Besides, the highlight of the workshop was the hands-on application of SEM concepts to real datasets. Participants seized the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge to analyse real-world data examples, strengthening their ability to interpret SEM results and make informed research conclusions.
As the Unlocking Insights Workshop ended, participants departed with newfound insights and confidence in their ability to navigate the complexities of SEM. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their enthusiastic participation and contributions to making this workshop a resounding success.
