21 March 2023: The Centre for Testing, Measurement, and Appraisal (CeTMA) has organised a workshop, Speak Up for Nature on the topic "Sustainable Food Production: Implementation of Smart Ezee DIY Aquaponic System". This workshop is divided into two phases: Phase 1 (theoretical session) and Phase 2 (practical session).
The first phase is a webinar talk of theoretical sharing on aquaponic systems conducted on Tuesday at 11 a.m., in which student and staff participated. A 30-minute webinar session is shared by Associate Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Farizal Rajemi, who is a lecturer at the School of Technology Management and Logistics, UUM. Generally, the first phase of the workshop is a theoretical sharing, where the speaker explains the terminology of aquaponics and the implementation of Smart Ezee DIY Aquaponics Design.
The interesting part of the webinar was when the speaker shared the potential organic products that can be produced through the aquaponics system and how this system can help people generate income. In the middle of the sharing, the speaker explains the advantages of the system and also shows a video of an aquaponic system that has been set up at Mak Teh’s house in Kampung Tradisi.
At the end of the workshop, the speaker invites all the participants to take part in the next workshop's practical session. The next session will be more interesting, where the participants get the chance to live visit the aqua system that has been set up at the School of Quantitative Sciences, UUM, and they can set it up on their own at house.
