30 May 2023: The Centre for Testing, Measurement & Appraisal (CeTMA) at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) recently hosted a courtesy visit by a distinguished team from the Faculty of Technology Management and Technopreneurship at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). Led by their esteemed Dean, Associate Professor Dr. Mohd Syaiful Rizal Abdul Hamid, the UTeM delegation visited CeTMA to explore UUM's commitment to sustainable practices. Also joining is Associate Prof Dr. Nor Idayu Mahat, Director of the Research and Innovation Management Centre, UUM.
During the visit, Associate Prof. Dr. Masnita Misiran introduced the delegations to UUM's Living Campus framework, which encompasses the university's efforts towards environmental preservation and sustainability. A highlight of the tour was the demonstration of the Sustainalytics: Recycle Centre Performance Analysis dashboard, an interactive tool developed by the CeTMA team. This innovative dashboard allows real-time monitoring of recycling activities on campus and provides insights into the resources saved throughout the year, including trees, oil, electricity, and water.
As a University Centre of Excellence and the secretariat for the Living Campus agenda, CeTMA plays a crucial role in driving sustainable practices at UUM. The visiting UTeM faculty members were deeply impressed and excited by the dashboard developed by CeTMA. The successful visit served as a platform for knowledge exchange and potential collaborations between UUM and UTeM. The UTeM team expressed their admiration for UUM's impactful initiatives, affirming the university's commitment to making a positive environmental impact.
